Resources for Domestic Violence victims
Sadly as the pandemic began, domestic violence cases have increased. The Harbor House offers help on their website or by calling 316-263-6000.
Bicycle rental program to continue
Many Wichitan’s loved the bike rental program in town, which sadly ended last spring after Zagster declared bankruptcy. A new company will pick up the Bike Share ICT program in early December with about 200 bikes!

New Residential group home for girls from Youth Horizons
Youth Horizons ( a local nonprofit) just broke ground on the Wren Home Project in Valley Center which is a safe group home for girls for foster kids waiting for adoption.

Flex Warehouse space
Wichita developer Joe Hemmelgarn recently broke ground on 20000 square feed of flex warehouse space in northwest Wichita.
Wichita Political Scandal
The Sedgwick County Republican Party has called three lawmakers to step down from their positions. Sedgwick County Commissioner Michael O’Donnell, Kansas Representative Michael Capps, and Wichita City Council member James Clendenin were involved in creating a false attack ad against Mayor Whipple during his run for mayor in 2019.
Freddy Simon has passed away at the age of 95
Freddy Simon, the namesake of Freddy’s, aka the best fast food burger (yes better than Whataburger and in n out) has passed away.
Wichita Fun Fact
You have heard Wichita called the ICT, and you may have eaten at Doo-Dah Diner. But do you know why Wichita is sometimes called Doo-Dah? It’s said to be a nickname that refers to the laid back, chill environment of Wichita. It’s a term that a KFDI radio DJ coined many years ago.
