Every year in Wichita, thousands and thousands of people flock to the river to experience Riverfest. This is a festival to celebrate the river and celebrate Wichita. Riverfest consists of 9-10 days of concerts, food, games, contests, and much more. Riverfest occurs towards the end of May or early June.

Sadly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Riverfest is looking a little different. Starting May 29 through June 6, it will be virtual! Visit the Wichita Riverfest site to see all the details, but we will highlight a few.

Wichita Riverfest Medallion Hunt
One of my and my families favorite parts of Riverfest is the Medallion Hunt. A small circular medallion is hidden somewhere in or around Wichita. The prizes over the past ten years have ranged from $1000 to a billiards table set to a patio set to a car! My family has a lot of great memories getting the paper at midnight and going out to search.
