Kansas Athletes in Tokyo 2020 Olympics
After searching for Kansans in the Olympics, we came across two women competing in the 2021 games.
Adrianna Franch from Salina is one of the 18 players on the Women’s US Olympic Soccer Team. She was a Salina South standout in high school. She currently plays on a professional team as goalkeeper in Portland. She has the honor of being the first women’s soccer Olympian from Kansas!
Wichita Athletes in Tokyo 2020 Olympics
Maize High School’s standout softball star Kelsey Stewart is also making the journey to Tokyo. Kelsey is a left-handed third baseman originally from Wichita, Kansas. She won two softball National Championships with the Florida Gators and has been named a Second Team and two-time First Team All-SEC player, including being named conference 2015 Player of The Year.
Six new sports have been added to the 2021 games, They are: surfing, sport climbing, skateboarding, baseball, softball and karate. There should be something for everyone to enjoy!
