CORONAVIRUS
When can you get vaccinated?
Sedgwick County has a model that estimates the amount of vaccines distributed in the area. It is currently showing the entire adult population capable of being tested by the start of next school year…or maybe not until the end. It’s all based on if we can distribute 12000, 24000, or 36000 doses per week (we are currently under the 12000 mark). At the current rate, everyone could be vaccinated later than May 2022.
The current phase still is only open to health care workers and those over age 65.
COVID Testing Options
Have you gotten COVID tested? I know I have about 4 different times due to exposures. There are a lot of options to get tested now including free tests with no appointments at the 4-H building at 21st and ridge as well as free tests at the Hughes Metroplex at 29th & Oliver (drive up location).
Wichita Public Schools
USD259 has released a plan to finally bring students back in person starting in early March. Starting today, different groups of students will be back four days per week. 6th and 12th grades will be on site Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Starting next week, high school freshman will be back four days per week.
Curfew Lifted
As of this past Saturday at 12:01AM, bars and nightclubs can stay open until 2 am once more. There is still a limited capacity of 75% or 150, whichever is less.
