Wichita Public Schools slammed on the brakes when it came to all things in person with schooling. The High Schools and Middle Schools have been remote all semester and considered in person, but with the rising cases in Sedgwick County and the school system, they voted to stay online. This extended to the elementary schools who have had the option to do inperson schooling all semester. Except for limited cases, everyone is now online.
Winter Sports Season is upon us ..with no fans
KSHSAA (Kansas High School Athletics Association) has banned fans from attending Winter sporting events. After thousands of emails from parents, coaches, and students, they are reconsidering. The full KSHSAA board of directors (78 people in total) have the final say and will decide today at 1PM.
Food Bingo ICT
A Wichita teacher, Tyler Morgan, created Food Bingo ICT to get people out supporting local restaurants and businesses to combat the pandemic. So if you like food, supporting local, or just Bingo, go check out Food Bingo!
Airlines are a-changin’
Due to Covid-19, many airlines have had to adjust their schedules. A few examples that affect Wichita are Frontier suspending Denver flights until March and Alaska Airlines cutting daily flights to Seattle down to 3x per week among others.
Electric Bus
Wichita continues to move towards helping Mother Earth. Keep an eye out for two new Wichita State themed 100% Battery Powered buses.
New Medical School in Wichita
The proposed school would be the Kansas Health Science Center and Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Plans also consist of student housing and a culinary school. Ratatouille, anyone?
