There is something magical about summertime. Swimming, lazy weekends, going to the lake, corn on the cob, grilling outside and fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmer’s market.

Old Town Farm & Art Market

Wichita is blessed with many options to get your fix of fresh produce. Old Town Farmers Market is open at 1st and Rock Island in Old Town from April through October on Saturdays 8:00-Noon.

Union Station Farmers Market

Another one to check out is the Union Station Farmers Market at 701 E Douglas. Their hours are Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-6:00 pm, May through September.

Kansas Grown Farmers Market

On the west side of town, there is the Kansas Grown Farmers Market in the Sedgwick County Extension Center parking lot at 7001 W 21st Street North. They are open from the end of February through October. It starts at 7:00 am for all you early birds!

Haysville Farmers Market

Head south and you can hit up farmers markets in Haysville and Derby. Go to 100 S Main in Haysville and you can get more than fresh fruits and vegetables. They offer crafts, baked good, eggs, honey and more. The market is open Saturdays from 8:00-Noon, June through September.

Derby Farmers Market

Derby offers a farmers market at 512 E Madison from 8:00-Noon, May through September.

Green Acres Farmers Market

On the east side of town, Green Acres has a market at 8141 E 21st Street North on Tuesday evenings from 3:00-6:00 pm. There are special events from time to time to enjoy while you shop.

Other Wichita Area Farmers Markets

There are numerous surrounding communities that host farmers markets. If you are ready for a road trip, fresh produce is available at the Barlett Arboretum in Belle Plain, the Harvey County Farmers Market in Newton, the Reno County Farmers Market in Hutchinson, the Whitewater NW Farm & Craft Market in Whitewater, and Kechi’s Thursday Farmers Market in Kechi. Most are already open and have Saturday morning hours.
