Does your family have Christmas traditions that center around enjoying the many light displays at this time of year? If so, check out the list below for some large displays in the Wichita area:

Illuminations at Botanica: 701 Amidon St. It is open from 5:30-9:00 through January 1st. The one-way path features more than two million lights. $13 for non-member adults $9 for members and children under 12 and Free for children two and under. You must reserve time slots and purchase tickets at Botanica.org.

The Lights at Ability Point (formerly the Arc’s Lights): Douglas Ave at St. Paul St. Open through December 28th 5:30- 10:00 on Fridays and Saturdays; 5:30-9:00 the rest of the week. They are open on Christmas Eve from 5:30-11:00. Free-will donation Monday-Thursday; $10/carload on Friday-Sunday. There are more than 1.5 million lights and a new tunnel. Pay at the gate.

Brown’s Christmas on Hampton: 311 N Hampton Rd. Tune your radio to 106.9 and enjoy the lights and inflatables. Sunday through Thursday until 10:30, Friday and Saturday until 11:30.

Candy Cane Lane, Reindeer Road and Cedar Park Street: All in west Wichita. Enter and exit at Central and Cedar Park Street only. Candy Cane Lane, 1000 N Azure Circle; Reindeer Road, 900 block N Firefly St; Cedar Park Street has things on both sides of the street.

Christmas on Peckham: 2514 N Peckham St. 10 projectors, inflatables, trees, snowmen, Santas, penguins and polar bears. Dusk to 11:00 until January 1st.

Flora Lights: 600 block of N Flora: Two homes have enough decorations to light up the block, including inflatables, a vintage nativity, wire molds and lights.

Friends University Clock Tower: 2100 W University Ave. The lighted clock tower is visible from Kellogg when you drive near Meridian and Edwards.

Golden Hills Lights: 727 N Golden Hills. A beautiful animated light show set to music in West Wichita.

The “Griswold” House of Rose Hill: 1610 Tanglewood Road, Rose Hill, KS.
This display has become a Rose Hill tradition, growing a little more every year over 15 years. Christmas lights were always their favorite part of Christmas and they love sharing them with the community. Display hours are Sunday-Thursday 6-10, Friday & Saturday 6-12

Lights on Gold: 5336 S Gold. 13,000 lights set to music on FM 99.5. The hours are 5:30-midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and off at 10:00 the rest of the week.

Santa’s Court: 2330 N Parkridge Ct. A lot of homes in the cul-de-sac have Santa decorations. There is also an animated light display set to music on 89.5.

Lights on Longview Ln: 3805 E Longview Lane. Through January 1st from 6:00-midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 6:00-10:00 the rest of the week. 75,000 lights to Christmas themed music on 106.9 FM.

Lights on Texas: 11603 W Texas St. Lights on Lawrence lane was started in 2008 and has grown to 300,000 lights and is now computer animated. In the summer of 2015 Lights on Lawrence lane made a move to the west side of Wichita! The Display now known as Lights on TEXAS!! The display features a nice mix of traditional and new led lights. Many of the items in the Display are a tradition of the Wichita area due to the fact they were at 17th and Park Place for 25years on display.

Robin Road Christmas Lights: 212 N Robin Rd. Several generations of hand-made figurines and lights. The lights are on until 11:00 on Fridays and Saturdays and off at 10:00 the rest of the week.

Lights on Texas: 11603 W Texas St. This is a popular, large, animated display, featuring 250,000 lights set to music on 95.7.

Lights on Ocieo: 6726 W Ocieo St. Animated display with 80,000 lights singing Christmas trees on the roof, star bursts, nativity scene, Santa sleigh and reindeer set to 106.9 music. Hours are 5:30 pm through 7:00 until January 2nd.

Marshall Family Christmas Lights: 620 N Stratford Lane. Donations are accepted to benefit the Lord’s Diner and St. Anthony Family Shelter. Lights are on through January 6th from 5:30-10:00 weeknights and 11:00 on weekends.

There are so many ways to celebrate a holiday tradition, but one of the best is to see a child’s eyes light up when they see such beautiful displays.
