COVID-19
Starting Tuesday, May 4th, Sedgwick County will resume using the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine.
This is available to those 18 and older on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 6th by appointment.

CRIME
Eric Stokes is remembered
Sunday evening, 17 year old Eric Stokes was killed in an apartment shooting on the west side.
His friends remember him for his laugh, his smile, and how much he loved everyone.

Amazon is coming to town
The Amazon warehouse in Park City has been making a lot of progress with construction. Officials in Park City say itll be partially open by July (this also means approximately 500 more jobs coming to the area).

If you have driven on the west side of Towne East Mall recently, you may have wondered what was going in the structure next to Rusty Eck Ford.
It is a massive 20-bay Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center.
SCHOOLS
USD259 Enrollment Drop
For a lot of the past year, students have been remote or hybrid remote/in school.
The enrollment in Wichita public schools dropped by 2600 students this year (5.6% drop). Schools are looking to recruit these students to come back to school.
CENSUS
The census results are in
Every 10 years, the U.S. Census bureau does an official census / count to get an idea of the populations in different areas, states, etc.
Kansas had a population of 2,937,880 on April 1, 2020 which is a 3% growth of 2010 (2,853,118).
This puts us 35th in the nation in population size.
The only decade that had a worse growth rate in Kansas was 1930 to 1940 where the population shrunk 4.3%.
Kansas retained its 4 seats in the U.S. House.
