CORONAVIRUS

Mask Mandate Updates

This whole mask mandate situation is confusing when different levels of government all have different rules.

Just hours after Governor Laura Kelly issued a new mandate Thursday morning, the Kansas Legislative Coordinating Council voted 5-2 to revoke that statewide order.

So current status:

  • Kansas: No statewide mandate
  • Sedgwick County: No county mandate
  • Wichita: No city mandate

These current regulations are subject to change. Keep in mind that each business has the right to enforce whatever rule they want.

VACCINES

COVID vaccines are now available to everyone 16+ in Kansas. Thousand of appointments are going unfilled. If you want to get vaccinated, please don’t hesitate.

Find a vaccine here.

BUSINESS

Food Halls

Kansas.com

Big cities have a lot of stuff to offer. In fact, some of these offerings are why people leave Wichita. But Luke Luttrell and Justin Neel are opening some “big city concept” with Creative Kitchen food halls.

The first one (ready in June) will be near the current Fuzzy’s and Journey East Asia Grill on WSU campus.

Social Tap Drinkery will be joined by Sungrano (a pizza place) and a 3rd restaurant yet to be announced.

COMING UP

Team Up

Mark your calendars. Botanica and the Wichita Symphony are teaming up for an outdoor concert involving fireworks in May.

All Natural

For the first time, a bill to potentially legalize medical cannabis in Kansas will pass from a committee to the Full House chamber. Kansas is one of just three states without any form of cannabis program.
